1. Core considerations
Climate adaptability
Scenarios where HRV is preferred: areas with cold winters and low humidity (such as northern Canada and northeastern China), its heat recovery
efficiency can reduce heating losses; if the humidity in the area is high all year round (such as the southern coastal areas), it is recommended to use
ERV or dehumidification equipment
Avoid installing HRV hosts in polluted/high humidity areas such as kitchens and bathrooms to avoid affecting the life of the equipment
Heat exchange efficiency
Choose models with heat exchange efficiency ≥ 70% to ensure effective recovery of heat energy in indoor exhaust gas and reduce air conditioning/heating
energy consumption
Prioritize the use of HRV systems with full heat exchange cores, which can maintain indoor temperature stability more efficiently than models with only
sensible heat exchange
Air volume matching
Calculate the basic air volume based on the standard of 30m³/h per person and adjust it based on the house area. For example, for a 100㎡ family, it is
recommended to choose a two-way flow model with a capacity of 300m³/h or more to ensure ventilation efficiency
Avoid blindly pursuing high air volume and balance noise control (preferably models with operating noise ≤30 decibels)
2. Product selection dimensions
System type
Pipeline HRV: Suitable for newly built houses or comprehensive renovation scenarios, pipeline layout needs to be planned in advance, and ventilation uniformity is better
Wall-mounted HRV: Suitable for renovated houses, easy to install but limited coverage, usually used in a single room
Filtering function
At least equipped with primary + high efficiency (HEPA) dual-stage filtration, which can filter PM2.5, pollen and other pollutants, and the purification efficiency must be ≥95%
Activated carbon filter is a plus point, which can absorb odor and formaldehyde
Energy consumption and maintenance
Prioritize low-power models (such as 24-hour power consumption ≤1 degree), and check the heat exchange core cleaning cycle (recommended ≤6 months)
Select models with filter replacement reminder function to reduce maintenance costs
